I previously posted an initial review to the series finale.  But at the time, directly after watching the episode, I didn’t have my thoughts together on how to talk about it.  I’m not entirely sure I do now, but we’ll give it a shot.  Below are the notes I took while watching it for the [...]

Good news: No tears
Bad news: I have no idea what to think about all of this.
Sure there are the obvious high points: Helo not dying, the humans finding a happy ending, awesome effects and battles.  And there are the obvious heartbreaking points: Laura’s death and the fact that this is all over.  But for all [...]

Things I liked:

Hello, Helo.  It’s nice to have you back after not seeing you for a few weeks.
Love the pretty piano music
I’m so glad Doc Cottle is getting at least one scene in all of these last episodes.  I dearly love that character.
Thank you for getting the same girl to play young Kara.
Props to Aaron [...]

Things I liked:

Finally getting a glimpse of a skinjob Cylon pilot in action, even if it’s only for a brief second.
Yay for a rematch of Ellen vs. Laura
Glad there’s one harem girl not completely under Baltar’s spell
Kate Vernon is awesome
Nice to know that it’s still not a good idea to play mind games with Baltar
Michael [...]

Just like last week, these were written as it was airing, so that’s what order they’ll be in.  And also like last week, I spent a fair amount of time only capable of watching the TV and not doing anything more, including remembering to breathe at some points.

Things I liked:

CGI of Colonial One landing on [...]

Once again, these were written down as I was watching and appear in the order the scenes aired.  And since it was such an intense episode, in my opinion, I didn’t do a lot of writing while it was on.  But overall I thought it was a great episode.

Things I liked:

Saul’s face when Laura walked [...]

Once again, these were written down as I was watching and appear in the order the scenes aired.

Things I liked:

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Adama with a glass with something other than alcohol in it.  It’s a nice change.
My love for Doc Cottle knows no bounds.  As my friend says, he’s an old, [...]

You’ll be able to tell that I was writing these things as the episode was airing and not wanting till the end.

Things I liked:

Oh, Leemo.  I’ve missed you and your girlishly emotional facial expressions.
As a biology teacher, I do appreciate seeing Baltar as a scientist again.  It’s always nice to come full circle.
Yay for the [...]

Got to watch the mid-season finale early today while at work.  My thoughts are hidden behind the “Read more” link so as not to spoil anyone who hasn’t seen it yet and doesn’t want details early.

Yay for the return of Elosha.  It’s always nice to see familiar faces.
Again, mad props to the actress who plays the Hybrid for being that weird and spending all day in the tub of goo.
Baltar and the Hybrid was hilarious.  Same with “witnessing” to the Centurion.
Kudos to Grace Park.  When the Eight was telling Helo [...]
